Harrahs Make A Move In To the Online Gambling World
Almost silently, Harrahs have made a bold move to cash in on the online gambling boom. Perhaps unnoticed by many in the last few months Harrahs have launched their own online poker, casino and bingo sites. During the original online bingo boom American companies missed out on the action mainly due to unclear laws in the US. These companies had to sit on the sidelines and watch as UK companies built multi million pound annual profits with a large proportion of their players being Americans. The US government acted by introducing the Safeport act which in effect stopped many of the UK and European sites accepting deposits from American citizens. Nowadays sites such as Virgin Bingo & Sky Bingo do not accept deposits from any US Players. This though could be about to change. Many online gambling sites such as Poker Stars have continued to allow US players at their sites. It is reported that the US government could scoop as much as 46 billion if they legalised online gambling. Support for the Anti UEIGA bill is growing daily and with the US treasury cash strapped many analyst feel that the bill could be passed in less than a year.
With Harrahs being a household name around the world they would of course become one of the market leaders with sites such as Caesars Bingo if US players returned to the online gambling world. No wonder then that Harrahs are pushing hard to support the Anti UEIGA bill.
